At the entrance to Rock Park stands a grand obelisk that marks the opening of the recreation area way back in the August of 1879. Nearly a century and a half later, the Barnstaple leisure facility is still thriving and hosts an array of great features designed to entertain families of different generations.
Rock Park was bestowed to the Mayor and Aldermen of Barnstaple Corporation, their heirs and successors, by William Rock; it is now owned by Barnstaple Town Council and managed by the Rock Park Trust Management Committee.
The eibe team met with Barnstaple Town Council’s Amenities and Properties Manager, Ian Parker, to discuss some modern additions to the existing playspace in the park. The £15,000 project allowed for the inclusion of a Luna Nest Swing, Flat Swings and a Trampoline.
The new provision was opened in April for the Easter holidays despite some pretty horrendous weather conditions faced by our install team. Despite the obvious bogginess, some hardy, mud-splattered kids loved the opportunity to try out the fabulous equipment.
