Katherine the Great

Friday July 25th witnessed the second, and major, playspace offering at Katherine Park in Wiltshire.

Katherine Park Residents Association, supported by Wiltshire Council, has worked tirelessly with eibe over the last twelve months to effect the new £110,000 play area, following the successful completion of the initial smaller project in 2013.

Necessary drainage works were required on site prior to any equipment being added, and with the less than ideal weather over the winter period, it was a good job that we got it done! The installation started in the spring and was completed without any further interruptions in time for the summer holidays.

“We have created two really varied playgrounds,” says Paul Redden, managing director of eibe, “They are a clever mixture of traditional play equipment, pitched alongside some innovative transportation products, such as the train and the raft at the smaller toddlers’ area. Our imaginative paradiso range then sits perfectly within the natural surroundings; the bespoke play mound being an ideal centrepiece for the larger area.”

Matt Harpham, Katherine Park Residents Association, is delighted with the end results:

“We have been working with eibe on two new play areas on our estate. We wanted a strong say in what was created so asked the County Council if we could run the project. eibe won our competitive tender, based on the quality of their designs and presentation. We have been working closely with them since then to create a pair of sensational play areas, one of which is in place, the other is due to be installed shortly. Our working relationship has been very rewarding - eibe have listened well to our requirements and offered creative solutions where necessary. It has been a long road, and hard work on both sides, but we look forward to opening the large park and inviting everyone down to celebrate!”
