Hursley's New Six-legged Friend

Situated to the south west of Winchester in Hampshire, the parish of Hursley has an unusual new play friend for its local community.

Sometimes known as “The Village of Chimneys” because of its tall highly decorated rubbed brick chimneys on some of the older buildings, Hursley’s smoking new play area comes courtesy of the Residential Community Group and an Open Space Fund, a pot of money held by Winchester City Council.

Featuring a striking wooden robinia spider, the £6,000 redeveloped playspace also boasts a fox and horse spring rocker, as well as a replacement 4 seater seesaw.

The new equipment was installed onto safe grass matting, so children of all ages can utilise the facility – as long as they don’t suffer with arachnophobia!
