June 9th 2016 was a memorable date for members of Betchworth Parish Council. The Sweet Thursday of early summer was the culmination of two years hard graft and commitment to introduce a new children’s play park in Goulburn Green, near to Dorking in Surrey.
Working in conjunction with Parish Clerk, Adria Kinloch, the eibe team was an integral part of the development set-up, planning and designing, advising and consulting. Once approval was granted and funded approved by Mole Valley’s Development and Control committee earlier this year, the installation took place at the beginning of June.
It was officially opened on the morning of 9th June, with five children from the Betchworth and Buckland Children’s Nursery sharing the honour of cutting the ribbon, overseen by Councillors Julie Hardy and Charmian Stow. Then the fun really started, as the children became the first to try out the fantastic new products, including a wooden swing and slide unit.
Councillor Julie Hardy is thrilled that the playspace has finally got the green light:
“We hope that this play equipment will be enjoyed by children in the village for many years to come.”
