eibe Fits the Selsey Bill

Responding to a tender request from Selsey Town Council for a £50,000 maritime themed playspace, eibe recently enjoyed a seaside venture on England’s South Coast.

Three companies were originally asked to put forward designs to the council in March 2015. The brief was specific and the related to available budget. Added to the maritime theme was a space element in honour of the late Patrick Moore, the astronomer and local celebrity from Selsey. eibe was the perfect partner, able to include bespoke products at any time.

Work started in May and after the turf was left to take for a few weeks was opened at the end of June. A few lucky children from neighbouring Medmerry Primary School were granted the privilege of attending the official opening of the play area. eibe supplied them each with a goody bag to celebrate the launch.

The scenic scheme features a multitude of fun play equipment, including a 30 metre Fantallica Cableway, Lighthouse Play Unit, Trawler Play Unit, Toddler and Bay Swings, Roundabout and Trim Trail. We also included, as requested, bespoke space play tables and panels.

Gill Jennings, Selsey’s Town Clerk, is already seeing the difference:

“The play area has been well received and the local children love it. We’ve had great service from our Play Consultant, Stuart Evans, and an excellent choice of play equipment.”
