As part of an on-going £1.9 million regeneration project in and around Waltham Forest, Bisterne Avenue Park opened its doors to the public at the end of July. And what a day it was…

Bisterne Avenue is one of six schemes that eibe was awarded in March 2013 by Waltham Forest Council. The £80,000 venture aimed to completely overhaul the existing run down area and invigorate the community and its local residents. Witnessing the recent open day, it’s fair to say that it has certainly achieved that goal. Attended by the local mayor, who conducted the obligatory cutting of the tape, the day was a roaring success with hundreds of local residents pouring through the gates to try out a host of fantastic play and sports equipment.

To coincide with the launch, a committee entitled “The Friends of Bisterne Avenue” Group was established to offer ownership of the area to the association. eibe’s London Consultant Sandra O’Sullivan says the day could not have gone better,

“The weather was incredible, as was the reaction of the visiting children. And I have never heard so many positive comments from parents; they just loved the variety of play opportunities. The pictures from the day really do justice to the whole setting.”

Work will begin soon on eibe’s second installation in the East of London.
