"I would just like to thank you for all your hard work and to everyone who has been involved - it has been a pleasure to work with you and on behalf of the children I want to say a big thank you for all the sensory breaks, they are going to be able to have jumping and climbing, which will make such a difference to their learning. I would happily recommend your company to other head teachers too." Julie Stewart, Head Teacher
Medina House is a delightful establishment in Newport on the Isle of Wight. With a school motto that reads, “Be the best that you can be!” the school has been part of the life and educative provision on the island for over 30 years.
With aims and values that develop a positive attitude to learning in a fun, stimulating, challenging safe environment, Medina also recognise the importance of play time and have recently upgraded their outdoor areas to include some brand new equipment courtesy of eibe Play.
Responding to a phone call enquiry in spring 2018, the eibe team crossed the Solent, following the Medina River down to sunny Newport to meet Julie Stewart, Head Teacher at the special needs school.
The £12,000 project was all about providing play equipment that could be used by children with different abilities. Searching through eibe’s comprehensive catalogue, the playo Lycon II was specified as the main unit, alongside an In-Floor Trampoline installed on to Grass Matting and Bonded Mulch. The equipment was installed in the summer holidays in time for the September term.
Teacher Michelle Withall: "Just wanted to say a big thank you for the fantastic play equipment at the cottage (Medina House School). My Penguin Class are absolutely loving the equipment and one of my 4 year old children keeps giving us a picture of the field to ask to go outside to use it."
