The huge restoration project at Ynysangaharad Park in Wales is well under way. The scheme in Pontypridd is the recipient of huge funding (over £6m) from the likes of the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, plus a contribution from Cadw. The photographs of the ongoing installation demonstrate the incredible transformation that is taking place, turning the historic lido in to a playground paradise.
The equipment will all be finished by Christmas - we have already been on site for 4 weeks – but the hoarding is staying up until next March for the wetpour to go down in the hope of better weather!
Another area of the park will have its equipment installed in January / February time. This section, which consists of sand play equipment and cableway refurbishment, is in the area directly next to the new main circular area.
